Night Hoops is an inclusion, diversion, and engagement program that uses basketball as a means to reach young people in need.

Night Hoops is a locked door event starting at 7.30pm and ending with you being picked up by your guardian or bussed home by us at midnight. Each night involves three games, one training session, one workshop and a meal.

Volunteers make Night Hoops tick.

Volunteers help the tournament night run and the connection they  build connections with our participants help make our communities friendlier and more inclusive.

Night Hoops is open to all young people aged 12-18, but is designed specifically to offer a safe and engaging alternative for at-risk young people.

How It Works

Night Hoops is a six week basketball tournament that runs over six weekend nights and focuses on participation, engagement and respect.

Players and volunteers are encouraged to register online ***here*** before tournaments begin but can also register at the venue until all spots are filled.

On tournament nights each team plays three basketball games, completes a basketball skills session, takes part in a life-skills workshop, shares a meal and is bussed home before midnight. Positive behaviour is rewarded every night and the tournament concludes with trophies for the winners and runners up and players' awards for fairness and 100% attendance
